Medicine and Science Day at BEYOND reviews
We are looking back on a great NCPA Medicine and Science Day at the international conference BEYOND ballet why and how in Arnhem on April 18th 2015. Dance educators, performers and (para) medicals joined us to work on the future of dance and dance education. Creating awareness and exchanging knowlegde in an interdisciplinary receptive setting is what moves NCPA. The application of knowledge from different domains goes hand in hand with communication to create succesful and sustainable networks around the performing artist.
Reviews and articles are coming in and will be published soon.
See the video message by Maurits Hendriks, technical director NOC*NSF, on an interdisciplinary co-operation between elite sports and the performing arts here.
Professor Yiannis Koutedakis PhD, presenter at the conference, wrote us:
“In my 40 years in academia, the recent conference was one of the best ever attended. Everything was EXCELLENT indeed. The topics were carefully chosen and reflected the contemporary needs of dance. The same applies to presenters and coordinators. However, the very best marks go Conference Committee, including the young and enthusiastic helpers who were always ready to assist participants. Our contemporary and terribly mechanised society has underestimated the power of Arts in a very uncivilised manner. It is time to change this downhill run by organising such beautiful conferences. Very best wishes and many thanks for the invitation.”.
