The work of NCPA and its partners evolve around three pillars: research, education, talent scouting and professional development.

NCPA organizes together with its partners, mini symposia, shares knowledge at (inter) national seminars and symposia and particpates in research consortiums.

NCPA facilitates a receptive space for the network where many statements are shared and discussed.

Key notes and activities in 2017
NCPA organized a large symposium in collaboration with the partners of the NCPA network. The symposium ‘Building Bridges’ was organized in order to enhance and explore the connection(s) between research, education and application in healthcare and the performing arts. Among the guest key note speakers were Antje Orgassa (NL), Janine Stubbe (NL), Fay Nenander (SE), Einav Katan-Schmid (DE), Ruud Gerards (NL) & Myrthe Kools (NL).

Together with VDO (Vereniging Dansonderzoek) and Cinedans, NCPA presented a screening of ‘The Body as Archive’ and a physical workshop by Vicky Fisher (Radbouw University) at Inscience – Dutch International Science Film Festival.

The Fit to Perform/PEARL research consortium received a subsidy of 1,6 million euros to set up the Performing artist and Athlete Research Lab (PEARL). NCPA functions as the dissemination partner in this research consortium, led by Codarts Professorship Performing Arts Medicine.

Key notes and activities in 2016 
In 2016 NCPA participates in a RAAK research consortium under the title ‘Fit to Perform’. ‘Fit to Perform’ is researching physical and mental fitness of dancers. The consortium is formed by University for Applied Sciences Amsterdam, Codarts, Het Nationaal Ballet, Scapino Ballet, Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam, Nederlands Paramedisch Instituut, Vrije Universiteit.

Together with our partners we organized one mini symposium, two evening symposia, a Continual Professional Development training day for sport medicals with NIOS and a talent development programme for chamber musicians at Akoesticum.
Our key notes and contributors were: Libertad Pozo Rodroguez (ES), Raf de Groote (BE), Bram Bakker (NL), Derrick Brown (US), Patricia Bardi (US), Ronald Klaassen (NL), Joost van Megen (NL). We have welcomed around 350 participants.

Key notes in 2014 and 2015 
NCPA and its partners organized five mini symposia and a larger symposium day and welcomed approximatley 370 participants. Guest key note speakers were, amongst others: Jurjen Bosga PhD (NL), Esther van Fenema (NL), Gert-Jan de Haas (NL), Erno Hermans (NL), Brendon Koolen MA (NL), Yiannes Koutedakis PhD (GR), Corne van Loon MD (NL), Liane Simmel PhD, MD (DE), Marc Slors PhD (NL), Joao da Silva PhD cadidate (BR), Adrienne Stevens PhD) (VS), Michael H.
